The
rooms have roman names to them, and recall, the Great Consular
Roads, which, over the centuries were extended to make Rome the
centre of the world. Take the Via Appia - Regina Viarum, the Queen
of All Highways, or Via Cassia, Via Aurelia - each opening up
distant lands. The Via Appia, for instance, was Rome’s effective
gateway to the East, the Aurelia hugging the coast northwards
making for rapid communication with France and Spain.
All the rooms have forniture handed down in the family.
